My best and most promising apprentice, lost to their own hubris…

When I accept eager and spirited scholars under my tutelage and stewardship, it is with the expectation that they enter into this agreement with at minimum the most meager of requisites.

Firstly, do not waste my time. Attend each experiment with a mind open and receptive to learning.

Second, follow my instructions exactly at all times. I do not offer my valuable time to herd disruptive infants.

Third, do not touch or move anything on my desk. Ever.

Fourth, do not mishandle an empty Essence receptacle, categorically failing to perform a basic extraction and instead end up transposing the empty space within the glass orb with your own liver!

Sucus, as I sit now in the inn writing this, I have chosen to keep your orb on my desk as a constant and disappointing reminder of the folly of youth. At least the other apprentices will see your curdled blood stuck inside this glass ball and hopefully think twice about being so careless.
