Introduction
The Blainn race is the youngest of the Oghmir clade. At some point in history they separated from their Huérgar ancestors and settled in the cold mountains of Nordveld, merging their lives and cultures with the native Kallards. As centuries passed and their use of Ichor declined, they began to change and adapt to their new climate and culture.
The two races now exist together, living in the same klans and at times even in the same households. The Blainn enjoy all the respect, rights and privileges granted to all Kallardian people, including the right to vote during tings. They have not completely abandoned their origins however, and prefer to live in mountainous regions with rich ore and sturdy housing. These factors extend to battle as well, where they tend to use Kallardian armor or unique combinations and variations of it using traditional Húergar metal craft.
The Blainn have retained much of their Huérgar ancestry in their muscular physique, dense bone structure, social introversion, and aptitude for logic. They have grown slightly taller than their forefathers, and developed thick body hair to protect them from the cold. The reduced usage of Ichor has resulted in more delicate, pale, bluish skin and they suffer less from the inherent diseases that plague their ancestors.
Most Blainn irises are very pale, ranging from white to light blue. This isn't necessarily due to lack of pigmentation, however. Their conjunctiva is thick and cloudy, and covers the iris as well as the pupil where it becomes thinner and semi-reflective. This makes the pupil look pale in dim light and white in bright environments. The tougher conjunctiva protects against photokeratitis and glares, and the Blainn have retained most of the infrared vision from their Huérgar ancestry.

Language
Lisan Ki
While the Oghmir language of Lisan in the Blainn dialect of Ki—meaning “Ground Tongue” or “Surface Tongue” when combined as Lisan Ki—has been mentioned in passing to have been influenced by one or more Kallard languages. No written examples exist at this time.

Recent History & Scars of The Irruption
The small Blainn population of Hyllspêia in the Talus Mountains disappeared completely during or after The Irruption, with not so much as ruins left among the snow-covered peaks. Some speculate they took shelter with the Huérgar, but there has been no sign of efforts to rebuild the village. With the recently reestablished trade routes to Nordveld, the Blainn population in Myrland has seen a small increase.
Although there's never been any hostility between the races to speak of, the Huérgar and Blainn in other Myrlandic societies seem to have tightened their bonds during the last decades, intermarriage is now more common and the offspring isn't viewed askance. Often valid citizens in those nations, the Oghmir people tend to keep somewhat to themselves, not getting too involved in politics unless it’s about craft or trade.
