Based on what he told me, there was a small village here over a century ago.
That part of the story seems accurate.
Although it isn't the site I wish we could have explored, there do seem to be artifacts here that would suggest the acolytes spread their influence beyond the lavra itself before the Irruption. Despite their general unpleasantness, these hired hands do efficient work in digging up interesting bits and baubles.
However, I have my doubts as to the accuracy of the claims of who sent me here. He would have me think that there was some connection to this place and the resting site of a 'tribe rat king'. Do they even have kings?
I suppose people believe what they want to believe, even when it has no apparent grounds in reality.
