Text:
Ulagei,
When I rest and listen to the sound of the waters being carried to the eastern sea, I hear them whisper to me of a son.
A son, Ulagei!
I know that he will not have a name until he is of age, but the words of his potential future bubble from the water as it splashes against the rocks. I know he is a boy, because they speak to me names that end in “Ge!” and “Dai!” and “Der!”
I do not hear “Gei!” I take this to mean that it is simply not to be. He is not meant to have the ending of his father's name.
Were he a girl, the water would have surely called name-endings such as “Jin!” or “Tani!” or perhaps even “Lun!” But, I am certain that it did not.
