The others can't understand the concerns of the [[:Khurite|Khurites]], if most here even understand their tongue at all. They neglect the skill's usefulness, but I have studied their language ever since I was assigned to the east.

It was my immediately apparent fluency that surely earned me the attention of the //Procurator//.

I listen to the //Khurite// laborers from time to time. Sometimes they share their nightmares. One said he dreamt of a great, terrible sea bird circling above him in the sea, and he claimed that any time he attempted to reach shore it would dive down and begin to drown him.

Everyone was silent after that.
