+I cannot imagine what possessed the pirates to use their catapults to attack our lighthouse. What desperation may have driven them to such a strange attack, so close to the city?
+By the will of the [[:Gods|gods]], lightning struck their vessel, catching their sails alight and smiting several on board immediately. The mast shivered, striking some of them with debris as well. They retreated further down the coast, surely to survey and return later.
+Most of the population from the village further up the road fled. Only a few remained, last I was there. They want to stay and fight. I think it foolish, but I am the one hiding in the ruined lighthouse, perhaps I know little of bravery. I find myself huddled next to a chest of my things that I dragged up the broken staircase.
+I know I will have to leave it behind, I just hope those bastards don't find it first.
